A PORCELAIN SERVING PLATTER FROM THE SERVICE OF GRAND DUKE KONSTANTIN NIKOLAEVICH Russian, St. Petersburg, Imperial Porcelain Factory, Period of Nicholas I, 1848-1852 Ornamentally painted, gilded rims. Underglaze blue factory mark 'NI' under the crown. Decorated with the Grand Duke's monogram in Cyrillic 'WKKN' and with the imperial double-headed eagle. The ceremonial service was designed by F.G. Solntsev for the wedding of the Grand Duke and the Princess of Saxe-Altenburg, the future Grand Duchess Alexandra Iosifovna. Rest. on the egde. Diam. 32.7 cm.
