Description
THREE PORCELAIN DESSERT PLATES FROM THE KREMLIN SERVICE Russian, Imperial Porcelain Factory, Period of Nicholas I, 1838 Painted, gilded, decorated with a black double-headed eagle in the middle and inscr. in Cyrillic 'Nicholas Emperor and Sole Ruler of all Russia'. Underglaze blue factory mark 'NI', on the bottom red inventory numbers, inscr. in gold 'N.S. 1.2.', '30' or '31'. The ceremonial service, completed for 50 people and comprising nearly 1500 pieces, was designed by F. G. Solntsev for the Grand Kremlin Palace. Diam. 22/22.2 cm.
