JULIUS PAUL SCHMIDT-FELLING 1835 Berlin - 1920 TWO BRONZE FIGURES: GIRL WITH BASKET AND BUST OF A PHILOSOPHER Bronze, dark patina, each on a marble base. Height 19 and 23 cm. Girl signed 'Schmidt-Felling' and 'Echte Bronze' [Genuine Bronze]; bust unsigned. The two figures comprise a bust of a bearded man in an antique style, featuring boldly modeled curly hair and draped robes, and a genre figure of a young girl standing in rural attire with a bonnet, carrying a large woven basket under her arm. Shows signs of rubbing, loss of patina, and minor impact marks.
