P. KLOSE German sculptor, active early 20th century FREDERICK THE GREAT ('OLD FRITZ') Bronze with dark brown patina, on a square plinth and tall marble base (H. 10 cm). Total height 33 cm, width 9 cm, depth 8.5 cm; weight approx. 3.51 kg. Signed 'P. Klose' on the back. Full-figure depiction of King Frederick II of Prussia (1712-1786) in uniform, wearing a tricorne hat and carrying a walking stick. Minor rubbing and loss of patina; breast cross missing.
