THÉOPHILE FRANÇOIS SOMME 1871 Nancy - 1952 Sucy-en-Brie DANCER WITH CLOTH* Chryselephantine, bronze, gilt patina, upper body carved from ivory, on a naturalistic plinth and round marble base (H. 4 cm). Total height 36.5 cm, width 15 cm, depth 14 cm, weight approx. 4.61 kg. Signed 'Somme' on the back. Elegant depiction of a young dancer in dynamic movement with a sweeping cloth that energetically echoes the rhythm of the pose. Partial loss of patina and some damage. CITES marketing certificate is available.
