ADOLF DAUMILLER 1876 Memmingen - 1962 Munich EUROPE ON THE BULL Bronze, dark patina, on rectangular plinth and marble base (H. 3 cm). Total H. 42, W. 47, D. 16 cm. Signed 'A. Daumiller'. Fully sculpted nude representation of Europa sitting on a bull. The ancient myth of the abduction of Europa by Zeus in the form of a bull. The graceful female figure of Europa is placed naked on the back of the powerfully striding bull, with her upper body leaning slightly back. Partially preserved and loss of patina. Provenance: Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia.
