Signed on the plinth 'E. Rettenmaier', after the original in the Louvre by Guillaume Coustou (1677 Lyon - 1746 Paris). Fully sculpted representation of an athletic man taming a rearing horse. Partial loss of patina, min. bumped and rubbed.
