AN IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF A ASHINAGA AND A MASK Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 6.4 cm. The netsuke is carved as an ashinaga sitting on a long nose of a large mask, holding a fan in his hand, with his feet resting on the mask. Signed 'Masayuki' on the bottom. With traces of age and use, slightly cracked. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
