SPÄTEMPIRE-PENDULE MIT ORPHEUS

PENDULUM CLOCK WITH ORPHEUS France, circa 1820 Bronze, gilt, metal, steel, enamel. 39 x 26.5 x 10.5 cm. Stepped rectangular base on ball feet with a relief scene of Orpheus calming Cerberus with his lute on the front. Rectangular movement, flanked by a fully sculpted figure of Orpheus with attributes and a fountain. White enameled dial with Roman numerals and Breguet hands. Partially damaged and corroded; with pendulum, without key, function untested.
