Description
EMPIRE PENDULUM 'PASTORALE' France, Paris, Claude Galle, circa 1805 Bronze, fire-gilded, marble, enamel, steel, metal. 32 x 32 x 17 cm. Inscribed on the dial 'Galle Rue Vivienne à Paris'. Rectangular base on four feet with a fully sculpted figure of a seated shepherd with a flute. Tall rectangular, fountain-shaped clock case. White enameled dial with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes, and ornamental hands. Partially chipped; function untested; with pendulum (secondary) and key.
