TWO FIGURES OF SAINT JOHN THE BAPTIST South German, 18th century Limewood, carved in the round, polychromed and gilded, flattened at the back. H. 29/35, W. 27/14, D. 9/10 cm. Two depictions of Saint John: the youthful John the Baptist with a lamb, and John the Baptist as a preacher in the wilderness. Minor chips and damage; losses to the polychromy; rubbing to the gilding.
