MADONNA WITH THE CHRIST CHILD Southern Germany, Swabia, around 1480 Linden wood, sculpted, stained, remnants of a frame, flattened and hollowed out on the back. H. 64, W. 30, 21 cm, weight approx. 6.25 kg. Depiction of the Mother of God as Queen of Heaven with her head slightly bowed and wearing a crown, the Christ Child resting on her arms. Partially preserved, losses to the setting, damaged, restored, tension crack on the reverse, minimal woodworm damage.
