A WEDDING GIFT TO NICHOLAS II AND ALEXANDRA: A LARGE SILVER PLATTER WITH PAN-SLAVIC DECORATION Russian, Moscow, Khlebnikov, 1894 Silver, repoussé, engraved and gilt. Of circular form. The border engraved with circular medallions depicting coats of arms and the date '14 November 1894', alternating with ornamental engraved decoration. The centre with a continuous engraved inscription identifying the piece as a wedding gift to Nicholas II and Alexandra Feodorovna from members of the mountain village communities of Karamurzin, Kurgokovsky, Konokovsky, Volny and Urupsky in the Labinsk district of the Kuban region. Marked with city mark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and Cyrillic maker's mark 'KHLEBNIKOV' with the Imperial warrant. The underside engraved with inventory number '26'. Dents, applications missing. 40 cm diam., 1158 g.
