A VERY LARGE ICON SHOWING CHRIST PANTOKRATOR WITH SILVER RIZA Russian, Old Believers' workshop, early 19th century (icon), Russian, Moscow, Dmitriy Nikolaev, 1852 (riza) Tempera on wood panel. The garment folds emphasised with strong gold striations. With silver repoussé and chased riza decorated with foliate borders, the halos with bands of scrolling foliage and pan-Slavic inspired geometric frieze. Marked with city hallmark, assayer's mark, 84 standard and master's mark 'DN' in Cyrillic. 48.7 x 41.2 cm.
