VIOLIN WITH 'ARTHUR THOMÄ' VIOLIN BOW AND VIOLA BOW Markneukirchen, circa 1870 Two-piece spruce top and maple back, dark brown varnish; includes case. 4/4 violin: total length 59.1 cm, body length 35.9 cm. Violin bow: octagonal stick, leather thumb grip, length 74.5 cm, weight approx. 56 g, marked 'Arthur Thomä'. Viola bow: octagonal stick, leather thumb grip, length 75 cm, weight approx. 62 g. Both bows feature bone headplates; showing partial damage and nicks. Violin shows partial nicks and surface wear; cracks in the top. Provenance: In a private collection since 1947.
