VIOLIN WITH CARVED PORTRAIT BUST ON THE BACK Probably Markneukirchen, circa 1900 One-piece spruce top and maple back; the back features a carving of a knight or warrior wearing a helmet, along with floral ornaments and the date "1630"; brown varnish. 4/4 violin, length 59, body length 35.6 cm. No violin label; marked "1630" on the back. Partially bumped and damg; crack in the top; rest. Provenance: Private collection, Hesse.
