HERRMANN ***' German, 19th century Two-piece spruce top and maple back, dark brown-reddish varnish, with case. 4/4 violin, length 59.1 cm, body length 35.6 cm. Violin label: 'Michael Klotz in Mittenwald on the Isar, Anno 1757' and repair label 'Repaired by Court Instrument Maker Liebig, Breslau'. Violin bow, octagonal shaft, winding, thumb leather, bone end plate; bow marked 'A. Hermann ***', presumably August Friedrich Herrmann, partially bumped, without bow hair. Violin partially bumped and damg. cracks in the top, rest.
