RITUAL OFFERING BOWL WITH SKULL CAP 19th century Silver-plated metal, bone. 24 x 17.5 x 13.5 cm. Designed in the style of a chalice, featuring a domed foot and baluster stem in the Baroque manner, crafted from chased, silver-plated metal with acanthus leaf ornamentation. Mounted bowl formed from a skull cap; engraved with an Ouroboros on the inside, and the Latin verses "Vita Sine Fine" (Eternal Life) and "In Aeternitas" (Into Eternity) as well as sun-moon-symbol on the outside. Shows some rubbing and minor dents.
