MEMENTO MORI Southern German, probably 18th century Carved wood, polychrome-painted, metal. Height 32 cm; plinth 10 x 10 cm. The Grim Reaper, draped in a monastic habit, stands upon a square plinth; he holds a book surmounted by a skull in his left hand, while his right hand grasps the scythe. Partially damaged and worn; losses to the polychromy.
