WILHELM ALBERMANN 1835 Werden (Ruhr) - 1913 Cologne OTTO VON BISMARCK Bronze, dark patina, on a rectangular plinth. H. 89, W. 28, D. 30 cm. Signed 'W. Albermann' on the side; foundry mark 'Aktien Gesellschaft H. Gladenbeck Sohn Berlin Friedrichshagen' on the back. Large-scale, fully modeled depiction of Imperial Chancellor Prince Otto von Bismarck (1815-1898) in an imposing military stance. Shown in uniform with a *Pickelhaube* (spiked helmet) bearing the Prussian eagle, a double-breasted tunic, epaulettes, and decorations, including the Iron Cross. Standing in an upright, commanding posture, with his left hand resting on the hilt of a cuirassier sword. Characterful portrait featuring a distinctive mustache. Minor nicks and loss of patina; traces of oxidation.
