UNKNOWN SCULPTOR Active early 20th century 'LAOCOON GROUP' Bronze, dark patina, on a rectangular plinth and a stepped, ornate base. H. 28, W. 22.5, D. 5.54 kg. After Hagesandros, Polydoros, and Athanadoros of Rhodes. A small, fully modeled bronze of the famous ancient Laocoon group, depicting the dramatic death struggle of the Trojan priest Laocoon and his two sons as they are entwined and attacked by serpents. Minor rubbing and bumped.
