HANS MÜLLER 1873 Vienna - 1937 Vienna APOXYOMENOS (STANDING MALE NUDE) Bronze, dark patina, on a round plinth and marble base (h. 8 cm). Total dimensions: H. 42, W. 13, D. 16 cm; weight approx. 4.52 kg. Inscribed on the plinth: 'Red. H. Müller'. An athletic depiction of a male nude based on the antique motif of the Apoxyomenos-an athlete scraping dust and sweat from his skin with a strigil after competition. Partial loss of patina and minor impact marks.
