ANTONIO CANOVA 1757 Passagno - 1822 Venice (follower of the 19th/20th century) CREUGA OF EPIDAMNOS Bronze, dark patina, on rectangular plinth (H. 1.5 cm). Total height 64, width 38, 19 cm. Inscription on the plinth: 'Fecit Antonio Canova Rom 1792, later casting. Powerful representation of the ancient wrestler Kreugas of Epidamnos Kreugas in a tense posture, with raised arm and accentuated musculature. Partial loss of patina and some damage.
