Description
A. ERMLER Active in Vienna around 1900 'THE CELLAR MASTER'* Vienna, c. 1900 Chryselephantine; bronze with dark patina, face and hand carved from ivory; set on a naturalistic plinth and a square marble base (H. 4 cm). Total H. 27, W. 9, D. 9 cm; weight approx. 2.51 kg. Inscribed on the back: 'A. Ermler fec.'. A fully modeled figure of a standing cellar master in characteristic work attire, including a cap and apron. He stands in a casual, confident pose with one hand tucked into his pocket. Some loss of patina and minor impact marks. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
