TWO SOAPTONE CARVED STANDING FIGURES OF IMMORTALS China, Qing Dyansty Soapstone. H. 20-20.2 cm (27.3-28 cm with base). Including a figure of Zhang Guolao and a figure of He Xiangu, both standing on a separate plinth in form of rock. With traces of use and rest of color, partially damaged. Provenance: From the collection of the German Indologist Hermann Jacobi (1850-1937), acquired in China in early 20th century, then by descent within the family.
