Description
A MONOMENTAL BROWN AND GREEN JADE FIGURE OF A CAMEL China, Ming or Qing-dynasty Jade. L. ca. 58 cm (64.5 cm with base). The figure is finely carved as a recumbent camel with its legs tucked beneath its body and the head turned backwards. The mane and side-swept tail are delicately incised with fine detail. With traces of age, partially abraded. Provenance: From an old private collection in the southern part of North Rhine-Westphalia, acquired in 1990 from the auction house Bödiger.
