A LARGE LACQUERED WOOD FIGURE OF BUDDHA SHAKYAMUNI Burma, 17th/18th century Wood. H. 98 cm. The Buddha Shakyamuni is seated in vajrasana on a pedestal, his right hand in bhumisparsa mudra and his left resting on his lap, wearing a monastic robe. With traces of age and gilding, partially abraded, damaged and cracked. Provenance: From a Düsseldorf private collection.
