Description
A LARGE KO-HAGI POURING BOWL (KATAKUCHI) Japan, Edo period Stoneware. H. 8.2 cm, W. 22.5 cm. The bowl is of rounded, slightly irregular form, the walls with broad horizontal grooves and a wide spout, set on a broad foot ring. Over a fine reddish-brown slip is a crackled beige glaze, leaving the base unglazed. In the well, a crusty ash deposit is visible. It is accompanied by a modern wooden box.. With traces of age and use. Provenance: From a private collection in Düsseldorf.
