AN IVORY FIGURE OF GUANYIN AND CHILD China, late Ming Dynasty Ivory. H. 26.5 cm (28.5 cm with base). The Goddess of Mercy is depicted standing, carved with a serene expression and downcast eyes. She is dressed in a long, flowing robe and holds a rosary in her right hand. Her hands are raised to cradle a boy at her left side. With traces of age, partially cracked, abraded, damaged, and possibly missing parts. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community.
