Description
AN IVORY FIGURE OF GUANYIN AND CHILD China, late Ming Dynasty Ivory. H. 26.5 cm (28.5 cm with base). The Goddess of Mercy is depicted standing, carved with a serene expression and downcast eyes. She is dressed in a long, flowing robe and holds a rosary in her right hand. Her hands are raised to cradle a boy at her left side. With traces of age, partially cracked, abraded, damaged, and possibly missing parts. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
