Description
AN INLAID BOX WITH COVER China, Qing Dyansty Wood/mother-of-pearl/jade. 26.5x16.3x7.3 cm. The cover is inlaid with different materials including mother-of-pearl and jade, depicting birds among flowers branches. With traces of use, partially damaged and scratched, part of inlays fallen or lost. Provenance: From the collection of the German Indologist Hermann Jacobi (1850-1937), acquired in China in early 20th century, then by descent within the family.
