A WOOD NETSUKE OF SHOKI AND ONI Japan, 19th century Wood. H. 5.3 cm. The netsuke is carved as Shoki grasping the oni's writhing wrists with one hand, his right hand resting on the hilt of his sword. Signed 'Masatsugu' within an oval reserve on the back. With traces of age and use.
