AN IVORY NETSUKE OF RAKAN AND ONI ARM-WRESTLING Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 2.8 cm. The netsuke is carved as a rakan and an oni playing arm-wrestling on a lotus leaf, with a tiny snail beneath the leaf. The lotus stem is signed 'Masatsugu'. With traces of age and use.
