A WOOD NETSUKE OF AN EMACIATED WOLF WITH A CRAB Japan, 18th century Wood/bone. H. 3.4 cm. The netsuke is carved as an emaciated wolf with ivory-inlaid eyes, seated with its mouth open and forepaws pressing down on a crab, whose eyes are also inlaid with bone. Signed 'Masanao' in a rectangular reserve on the bottom. With traces of age and use.
