AN IVORY NETSUKE OF A LOOKING-BACK DOG WITH A LARGE BALL Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 3.9 cm. The netsuke is finely carved as a seated dog, with a large, smooth ball between its small paws and a thick collar around its neck. The large, prominent eyes are inlaid with black horn. With traces of use and age, partially cracked. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community.
