Description
AN IVORY NETSUKE OF A WOLF WITH SKULL Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 3.6 cm. The netsuke is carved as an emaciated wolf seated with its mouth open, one forepaw pressing down on a skull. It is signed "Tomotsugu" in a reserve on its left thigh. With traces of age and use, slightly abraded. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country. It is currently not possible to export ivory to the USA, Canada or England. This item is not legal to sell in the UK.
