Description
A STAG-ANTLER NETSUKE OF A SENNIN Japan, 18th/19th century Stag-antler. H. 9.5 cm. The netsuke is carved as a sennin standing in a loosely belted robe, with leaf decorations on the back, holding a strand of hair in the right hand and a staff in the left. The head is tilted upward to the left, with wide-open eyes and an open mouth. With traces of use and age, partially abraded and slightly cracked.
