A STAG-ANTLER NETSUKE OF A BASHIKO SENNIN Japan, 18th/19th century Stag-antler. H. 8.7 cm. The netsuke is carved as a Bashiko Sennin standing with alms bowls from which he conjures a ferocious dragon writhing above him. He is wearing a long flowing robe along with a leafy skirt and apron. With traces of use and age, partially abraded.
