A FINE IVORY CARVED NETSUKE OF A MONKEY WITH A MANDARIN Japan, 19th century Ivory. H. 4 cm. The netsuke is carved as a monkey sitting on a mandarin, with both hands peeling back a slice of the mandarin peel, revealing part of the segments inside. Signed in an oval reserve 'Eigyoku' or 'Yeigyoku' on the back. With traces of age and use. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country.
