Description
AN IVORY NETSUKE OF AN EMACIATED WOLF WITH A MONKEY Japan, 18th/19th century Ivory. H. 3.2 cm. The netsuke is carved as an emaciated wolf sitting on the ground with its mouth open in a roar, head turned to one side, with one paw pinning down a monkey in a pleading posture. Signed 'Mitsuharu' in an oval reserve on the back. With traces of age and use, slightly cracked. CITES marketing certificate is available. Please note that due to the current CITES regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell objects, unrestricted trade is only permitted within the European Community. An export license is required for shipment to third countries. Please inform yourself about the current import regulations for ivory and tortoiseshell in your country.
