TRONING SAINT ANNA SELBDRITT Upper Franconia or Swabia, around 1480 Linden wood, sculpted, dark stained, on a pedestal. H. 60, W. 43, D. 10 cm. Devotional depiction of Saint Anne, who unites her standing daughter Mary and the infant Jesus sitting on her lap. The flowing triangular composition, the calm drapery, and the static structure point to 15th-century Upper Franconian or Swabian wood carving. Partially damaged and worn, woodworm infestation.
