FRENCH SCULPTOR Active 19th/20th century SEATED VENUS Terracotta, with light-colored finish, modeled in the round. H. 73, W. 38, D. 34 cm. Depiction of a seated or resting Venus (or Aphrodite) as a female half-nude, with her left arm leaning against a column-like support. The lower body is draped in a richly folded cloth. Part. chips and damage; losses to the finish. Provenance: Private collection, North Rhine-Westphalia.
