MEMENTO MORI HOUSE RELIQUARY 'SAINT HONORATUS' WITH SKULL AND BONES Germany or Austria, 19th century Wood, carved in high relief, polychrome finish, with display case. H. 34, W. 43, D. 16 cm; weight approx. 2.1 kg. Rectangular reliquary shrine featuring richly carved volute and acanthus ornamentation. The display area contains finely crafted monastic needlework (*Klosterarbeit*) made of velvet, bullion wire, sequins, and paper flowers, accompanied by a *cedula* (label) inscribed "S. HONORATI M." (referring to Saint Honoratus, Martyr). Surmounted by a sculpted skull resting on crossed thigh bones, serving as a *memento mori* symbol. Part. bumped.
