SMALL PIETÀ Southern Germany or Eastern Europe, likely 18th century. Lindenwood, carved in the round, gessoed, polychrome finish, flattened at the back. H. 28.5, W. 11, D. 8 cm; weight approx. 0.67 kg. Small devotional image depicting the Sorrowful Mother (Mater Dolorosa) with the body of Christ on her lap. Minor damage, rubbing, nicks, and restoration; polychromy shows signs of rubbing.
