Description
A CARVED WOODEN BOX SHOWING TSAR BERENDEI Russian, probably Abramtsevo, c.1900 Painted, with metal chased basma. One of the most popular portrayals of Tsar Berendei was created by V.M. Vasnetsov for N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov's opera "The Snow Maiden". With the key. 27.8 cm long, 15.3 cm wide, 14.5 cm high.
