A BUSCUIT PORCELAIN FIGURE 'OSTYAK WOMAN FROM OBDORSK' FROM THE PEOPLE OF RUSSIA SERIES Russian, 20th century Painted. Red factory mark 'Gardner' with a double-headed eagle and a stamp '309'. The "Peoples of Russia" series of figures was produced at the Gardner factory from the 1870s onwards. It comprised approximately 46 figures representing various peoples and ethnic groups of the Russian Empire. The models were based on colored lithographs from Gustave Theodor Pauly's book "Ethnographic Description of the Peoples of Russia" (1862). A pipe slightly dam. 25.2 cm high.
