A RARE AND LARGE VITA ICON OF ST. JOHN RILSKY Russian, mid 18th century Tempera on wood panel, laid down on a wood panel. Portrayed frontal, full-length, dressed in monkish attire, standing on a hilly setting. The main scene framed by a decorative border of baroque-style foliate scrolls, ten scenes all around narrating the life of the saint. Vertical crack minimally restored. 47 x 41.9 cm.
