Description
A VERY FINE SIGNED ICON SHOWING A CHURCH ICONOSTASIS Russian, Moscow, Vladimir Alekseevitch Tyulin, circa 1900 Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Finely executed in great detail on a gold ground. The border minimally restored. On the reverse Cyrillic stamp of the workshop. 35.5 x 31 cm. Vladimir Tyulin was a well-known icon restorer. Together with Vasily Guryanov - Invited by the prior of the Trinity Lavra in the spring of 1904 - he helped to restore the Trinity by Andrei Rublev.
