A VERY FINE ICON SHOWING THE KORSUNSKAYA MOTHER OF GOD WITH EMBROIDERED RIZA Russian, 18th century (icon), Russian, 18th century (riza) Tempera on wood panel. The icon displaying the tender iconography of the Korsunskaya, the Mother of God gently touching the face of the Christ Child, the scroll he is holding just visible beneath his chin, the garments highlighted with gold decorations. Two selected saints on the borders: Sts. George and Ksenia. The metal riza with pearl embroidery and paste. Minor losses. 32.8 x 28 cm.
