A VERY FINE ICON SHOWING THREE SAINTS: ST. EUSTATHIUS, ST. STEPHEN AND A SAINT IN MONKISH ATTIRE Russian, 16th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. St. Stephen is shown as Proto-Martyr and Archdeacon. Minor vertical crack, minor losses. 28.3 x 24.5 cm. Provenance: Andreas Tostrup Urbye (1869-1955): A Norwegian civil servant and politician, he entered the diplomatic service and was stationed in Moscow from 1924 to 1939.
