A VERY FINE ICON SHOWING ST. NICHOLAS OF MOZHAISK Russian, 16th century Tempera on wood panel with kovcheg. Traditionally painted in subtle colours, the saint shown full length, with Christ and the Mother of God in the upper corners. The phelonion decorated with cross pattern. The background stripped of the original colour, partially restored, paint blisterings. 30.7 x 24.8 cm.
